Ebay item 7/14/10
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll
Current bid $7,000 reserve not met, no bids yet 4 days left in auction. Buy it now price $28,000.
Sellers description:
This car was a 4 door sedan with right hand drive, 3.8 liter engine, and automatic transmission.
I purchased it in 1982 from California.(I do have the bill of sale)
It had been converted to a 2 door convertible( with a mechanically opperated top), by welding the rear doors closed and chopping the top.
I purchased a donor car in order to restore the car to a 4 door. So I cut the doors open and used the rear doors from the donor. As you can see in the pics there is a small spot of surface rust on the bottom front corner of the left front door.
I wanted a fully hydrolic top, which when fully folded would stow behind the back seats, instead of laying on top of the rear deck like a VW Bug. In order to maintain the lines of the car, I shortened the trunklid, opened the rear cowl, and removed the 2 gas tanks from their factory location(left and right rear fenders).
I installed a gas tank under a false floor in the trunk. Both filler lids exist, but only the right one is functional.
I then removed the Jag engine and transmission and installed a completly rebuilt 350 small block Chevy and 350 tranny.
There is currently under 100 miles on the engine and tranny. The car has only been driven to a couple of car shows.
The entire interior has been redone;
All the seats have been redone in leather hides( saddle color) with contrasting piping.
As well as new door panels, carpet, trunk interior, and engine compartement liner.
I had to engineeer and fabricate the convertible top frame from scratch. Additionally, I have fabricated and installed a new Stay Fast cloth top with German herringbone liner.
Finally most of the wood is very good, a few sections are just so so.
This is a perfect one of a kind, personal ride.
