Offered for sale in New Zealand $30,000
This is a rather special example of the much loved Jaguar Mark 2. With an abundance of patina this car really is one out of the box. Original carpets are well worn along with well loved leather, wood work and paint.
This example was sold new in Levin New Zealand and has had a number of owners throughout the country since. We have limited history on the cars competitive life. We do however have some lovely photos of the car being raced in 1966 in the Gold Leaf endurance race. It was reportedly supplied to Rod Coppins by Tony Shelly so that Coppins and John Ward could enter the race. It finished down the order because of brake problems. It did however win the team prize as it was entered as a team car with the other Jaguars in the race. This included the Archibald car. It has been said that these were the last Mark 2's to score a win in a National for Jaguar.
