This 1964 Jaguar Mk II was modified in 1989 by Vicarage Classic Car Company Limited in Bridgnorth, England, with work including a left-hand-drive conversion along with the installation of power-assisted rack-and-pinion steering, Wilwood front disc brakes, and a replacement 3.8-liter inline-six with dual SU carburetors linked to a GM three-speed automatic transmission. The car later underwent a cosmetic refurbishment in 2016 that consisted of a repaint in blue and a re-trim of the interior in beige leather upholstery. The cabin features XJ6-sourced front seats, a Moto-Lita steering wheel, burl wood trim, and a Sony AM/FM cassette stereo connected to a trunk-mounted 10-disc CD changer. Further equipment includes air conditioning, a sunroof, an aluminum radiator, and 15″ wire wheels. Acquired by the selling dealer in June 2023, this Mk II is now offered at no reserve in South Carolina with a clean Florida title.
The car was repainted in blue as part of the aforementioned refurbishment and features a leaper hood ornament, a sunroof, pop-out vent windows, chrome-finished bumpers with overriders, and dual exhaust outlets. The selling dealer notes rust on the doors, and the majority of the gallery photos were taken in June 2023.
Chrome-finished 15″ wire wheels are secured using two-eared knock-off spinners and are mounted with Coker whitewall tires, while a spare with an older Dunlop tire is stowed in the trunk. The car is equipped with an XJS-sourced front subframe featuring power-assisted rack-and-pinion steering, and braking is handled by four-wheel disc brakes with Wilwood front calipers.
The front bucket seats were reportedly sourced from an XJ6 and have been reupholstered in beige leather, while burl wood trim accents the dash, window surrounds, and upper doors. A Sony AM/FM cassette stereo is connected to a 10-disc CD changer in the trunk, and further equipment includes air conditioning, a fire extinguisher, three-point seatbelts, polished door entry sills, and front door map pockets. Cracks are visible in the wood trim, and the transmission tunnel carpet is stained.
The wood-rimmed Moto-Lita steering wheel sits ahead of Smiths instrumentation including a 140-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 5,500-rpm redline as well as an inset clock. Additional readouts for coolant temperature, oil pressure, fuel level, and voltage are centrally mounted within the dash. The five-digit odometer shows 30k miles, approximately 100 of which have been added by the selling dealer. Total mileage is unknown.
The replacement 3.8-liter inline-six was installed under prior ownership and was rebuilt by Winning Makes in Santa Barbara, California, in February 2001. It is fitted with dual SU carburetors, and an aluminum radiator has been installed.
The factory transmission was removed and replaced with a GM three-speed automatic unit under previous ownership.
