This 1964 Jaguar Mk II was acquired by a previous owner as a project in the early 2000s and subsequently refurbished over multiple years. Work is said to have involved rebuilding the 3.8-liter inline-six as well as installing a Tremec five-speed manual transmission, adding Wilwood front disc brakes, repainting the body in blue, and reupholstering the interior in tan leather. Air conditioning, a RetroSound stereo, and fold-down rear tables have also been added along with an aluminum radiator and an alternator. Additional details include Lucas Fogranger lights, 15″ knock-off wire wheels, and dual SU carburetors. This Mk II is now offered by the seller on behalf of the owner, a licensed retail dealer, with a Maryland title.

Produced from 1959 to 1967, the Mark II saloon featured unibody construction and could be had with a 2.4L, 3.4L, or 3.8L XK inline-six. This example was repainted in its current shade of blue—said to be a BMW color—as part of the aforementioned refurbishment completed under previous ownership. Lucas Fogranger lights, a Leaper hood ornament, and a fender-mounted rear-view mirror are further details.

The 15″ wire wheels are secured by two-eared knockoffs and wrapped in Universal Sport radial tires. Wilwood disc brakes have been added up front.

The seats have been reupholstered in tan leather and are complemented by a burl wood dash, center console trim, and window surrounds. An air conditioning system and RetroSound stereo have been added, and the car features a dash-mounted clock as well as seatbelts for all five occupants.

The wood-rimmed steering wheel fronts Smiths instrumentation including a tachometer with an inset clock as well as a 140-mph speedometer and centrally positioned auxiliary gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 12k miles, and total mileage is unknown.

Fold-down tables have been added within the front seatbacks.

The 3.8-liter inline-six is equipped with twin SU carburetors wearing pancake-style air cleaners and is said to have been rebuilt as part of the refurbishment. A larger aluminum radiator was also installed along with an alternator and replacement electrical system components. Service in 2023 involved performing an oil change as well as replacing the distributor cap, ignition wires, and spark plugs.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Tremec five-speed manual transmission that was installed under previous ownership.

Chassis number 223395DN, the Maryland title omits the “DN.”

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
