1964 Jaguar MK2 3.8
French registration document
Chassis no. 223196DN
According to its Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate, this Mk2 3.8 with manual gearbox was delivered new to the Delecroix dealership in Paris, in this rare shade of Opalescent Maroon.
At the beginning of the 2000s, it was purchased by a Norman enthusiast who patiently restored it between 2005 and 2008 (invoice file): the paint, the upholstery and especially the mechanics were scrutinized to obtain the ideal Mk2.
Today, the bodywork is in a good state of conservation despite a slight presence of corrosion on the bottom of the door; the upholstery is beautiful, but some details will need to be revised, notably the varnish of the woodwork which seems to have suffered from the Norman sun
The mechanics are pleasant, Jaguar XJ6 power steering was fitted in 2020, making the car flexible to use; a squeak should be noted in the steering, and a revision of the crankset should be considered
For 6 years with the same collector, this Mk2 3.8 with mechanical gearbox presents a great purchasing opportunity for all collectors wanting the ideal family car from the 1960s; not to be missed with such an attractive estimate!
