The car was purchased by my father in 1963 and delivered in Europe, hence the original Coventry license plate (which I still have). He gave the car to me in 1976 and I took it to California and then I took it back to Texas in 1980. I sold the car following an accident in 1985 to another MK2 owner in Dallas who was going to either repair/restore it, or use it as a parts car. The car was a daily driver and between my father and I we put 220,000+ miles on it.
