I bought this lovely old 3.8 MK2 in 1994 from the second owner, who had inherited it from the original owner, Hollywood actor Ed Hashim. It had been stored for about twenty years but had only 46,000 miles on the clock. I rebuilt the car mechanically and found a nice original leather interior from another Mark 2 to replace the mouse-ravaged interior, which had been reupholstered in lurid green velour during the car's time in southern California.
The car now has 83,000 on the clock and I love it to pieces. It's great to drive, with the addition of an all-synchro OD gearbox which I installed to replace the crotchety old Moss box, an XJ6 power rack, front Konis and a few other invisible mods to make it more reliable and fun to drive.
But the car is basically stock, with about half its original opalescent drak green paint intact.
It has factory reclining seats and a Blaupunkt AM-FM-SW radio with a wind-up aerial, plus a Powr-Lok rear axle. Ed ordered every option except a sunroof!
