Car to be at auction 6/13
www.coys.co.uk/auction.php

Auction description:
Lot 398 - 1963 Jaguar Mk II 3.8 Litre
398 - 1963 Jaguar Mk II 3.8 Litre
Estimate: €30,000 - €40,000
Registration Number: EU Registered
Chassis Number: 222137DN

The desirable 3.8 Litre example offered today was manufactured in 1963. The current owner purchased the car in France in 2002 and imported it to Greece in November 2005. At that time it was in a very good unrestored condition but the owner decided to proceed with a restoration that was completed two years later.

Since then the car has remained in a dry climate controlled storage facility with a limited use of 2,000km since the restoration and continuous maintenance and all parts used for the restoration were new.

The interior, finished in red leather, has been very well preserved and is totally original whilst the exterior of the car is finished in a contrasting metallic grey giving this example an elegant appearance. A very attractive and useable classic Jaguar.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
