This Jaguar MK2 3.8L was sold new in France on June 4, 1962, equipped with the four-speed manual gearbox and Overdrive. During the 1980s, the car was located in Monaco, domiciled at the Continental, Place des Moulins. Following an engine failure, the Jaguar was then acquired in 1987 by Madame Maunier, in Roquevaire near Marseille. A lot of work is therefore carried out to get the car back on the road, whether cosmetic or mechanical. This is how the engine block was replaced by a more torquey 4.2L. The cylinder head of the 3.8L engine was retained. In 1996, the car was acquired by Madame Cognet, in Fontvieille.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
