Auction description:
August 30, 2014 auction

Back to listing
333 - 1962 Jaguar Mk.II Saloon (3.8 Litre)
Registration 550YPP
Chassis Number 208881DN
Engine Number LC3558-8
Odometer reading 68,835 miles
Estimate £9,500 - £12,500

This original 1962 Jaguar Mk. II 3.8 Litre, fitted with a manual gearbox and overdrive, was purchased by the previous owner in 1992 as a restoration project. When he started having the under body worked on at the rear end, in the mid 1990's, worked stopped on the car due to ill heath and it was put into dry storage. The vendor purchased the car earlier this year and has got the engine running and hopes by the time of the sale he will be able to free off the stuck clutch. Finished in bronze with a tan leather interior, this car comes with interesting glimpses into its history being supplied the original buff log book, A V5C registration document, a couple of old MoT test certificates from 1990 and 1991, a hand written condition report circa 1992 and the original handbook pack containing the handbook, service voucher book, dealer directory and the original manufacturer's warranty card. This is a desirable restoration project being an early Jaguar Mk. II complete with the 3.8 litre engine, manual gearbox with overdrive and wire wheels.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
