Nicely presented Jaguar Mark II 3.8 in original colours

Upgraded with a synchro manual gearbox and electric power steering
This lovely 1961 Jaguar Mark II started life as an original factory right-hand drive 3.8 model equipped with the optional Borg Warner automatic transmission and the Heritage Certificate confirms it left the Browns Lane factory in the same Opalescent (metallic) Dark Green on Suede Green colours it wears today, a combination that really suits the Jaguar’s lines. The Certificate denotes the engine in the car today matches the build sheet and, of equal importance, the Jaguar was delivered by Queensland distributor Andersons Agencies of Brisbane. The extensive history file supplied with the car contains a detailed log of all work carried out by previous owners dating back to 1993. The Jaguar evidently underwent considerable refurbishment in the mid-1990s, including a body restoration, fresh paint, chrome and new upholstery. Amongst the long list of works carried out, notable upgrades include installing a synchromesh manual gearbox with overdrive from an S-type, new shock absorbers, overhauling the brakes with a new master cylinder, a new alloy radiator and wiring loom. The motor underwent a refresh in June 2006 (when the odometer was showing 2,016 miles) and has done relatively little mileage since (it now reads 4,213 miles). The current owner had EZ electric power steering installed (at a cost of just under $5,000) in July 2019 by a local Sydney Jaguar specialist, vastly improving the Mark II’s driveability. Other improvements carried out since purchasing the car include a Derrington OEM steering wheel, installing an auxiliary fan, a genuine Jaguar stainless steel exhaust and heat insulation, plus a modern Bluetooth compatible sound system. Currently registered in NSW until September 2022 on personal plates JAG-308 (included if the buyer is resident in that state), the car comes with a tool kit, history file and Heritage Certificate.
