Car to be at auction 8/12
www.coys.co.uk/auction.php

Auction description:
Lot 108 - 1954 Jaguar C-Type Aluminium Roadster by Proteus
108 - 1954 Jaguar C-Type Aluminium Roadster by Proteus
Estimate: €90,000 - €110,000
Registration Number: German Registered
Chassis Number: 206018 DN

This beautifully-constructed aluminium Jaguar C-Type by celebrated UK craftsmen PROTEUS is said to have been built to Le Mans specification for none other than world famous rock legend and collector of classic racing cars Nick Mason of Pink Floyd.

Built to painstakingly original spec. by using an original C-Type as a pattern, it was intended to be used for the Pan American Rally. Its engine was bored out to 4.5 litre, and features dry sump lubrication, 3 Weber carbs, Dunlop Girling brakes and gearbox with overdrive etc. etc.

Having been in Germany for about the last twelve years, the car comes with German historic papers. Definitely an opportunity not to be missed.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
