Stylish and sophisticated, the classic Jaguar Mk2 defined an era of British classic cars. The Mk2 Jaguar created its very own class of classic cars; the sports saloon. It is no surprise that it is one of the most popular cars on the classic scene.
A well-sorted, cherished classic Mk2 is the very essence of a British sporting saloon. From the luxurious interior to the taut and confidence-inspiring handling, you will not be disappointed behind the wheel of a good Mk2.

Originally restored some years ago, the body is just starting to show some signs of age, it has also had a temporary repair to the front panel into the wings. This is not the whole story though, as you can see from the images this is a very well sorted example that was built to be used daily. Lavished with a spend of around £11k it presents well with a very well sorted interior and a mechanical refurbishment that should deliver confidence as it was intended to be used daily.

Images of original restoration
The outside appears free from obvious dings, dents although there are a few areas with some minor corrosion. The front and rear bumpers are as straight. The door handles, spotlights, window surrounds and door mirrors shine with a cheerful confidence of a 60-year-old classic.
Then there is that iconic grille and leaping cat on the bonnet. The whole package comes together superbly. It is a car that appears to have aged very well.
There are some areas that are showing their age but the previous restoration has held up reasonably well, check out the gallery and make up your own mind.

The Mk2 Jaguar delivers an incredibly light and airy feel to the cabin space. Slide into the driver’s seat and look around. It has that classic car feel. A good trawl through the numerous detailed images says more than we can. The glorious walnut, which is so synonymous with the Mk2, is all there.
The seats have been renewed and the door cards look to be in great condition.
It really is a wonderful place to be.

When the classic Mk2 arrived more than half a century ago, it was like a rocket-ship. The 3.4 litre Mk2 was capable of 120mph, and its performance was so superior to anything else on the road, it quickly became the car to have.
When you start up this 3.4 litre straight-six XK engine, you’re greeted with a delightfully reassuring purr. For a sixty-year-old classic, it is amazingly quick. Best when it’s powering out of roundabouts and corners, feeling the rear end squat down as you squeeze the throttle pedal. Alternatively, the Mk 2 is great just wafting around. You choose.
The Mk2’s last service was carried out less than 50 miles ago.
As previously alluded to there are numerous receipts in the document pack that exceed £11,000. The list below shows what has been replaced over recent years, although not exhaustive, gives you some idea of what has been done to make this as close to a daily driver as possible.
Carbs rebuilt
Clutch replaced
Steering Rack replaced
Brakes replaced
Heater motor
All washers, bolts and clips
