Sellers description:
Car is complete except for one gas tank drain plug. The car is original and has the original paint that the first owner repainted car to color he liked. I did some work on the body and interior woodwork in the mid 70s. Car has been either garaged or covered since 1968 but has not been on the road since 1980. Car has not been started since 8-9 years ago but engine has been regularly cranked to circulate oil. Chrome is good to excellent. Hub caps are fair to good. Pictures fairly represent condition of car. Have original MK 10 manual, Jaguar tool kit, several jaguar repair manuals and spare parts related to ignition, brakes and hoses. Refinished some of the woodwork in the mid 70s. Car has been converted to spin on oil filter which I have several of but also have original metal oil filter canister.
I am the second owner of the car which I purchased in 1967-68. He damaged the driver side rocker panel slightly by scraping it when driving it into an elevator where he stored car on second level of a building. Probably due to bad gas. Never was able to restart but never took the time to find source of problem other than to drain gas and try new gas. Car needs to be repainted, needs brake lines flushed and disc brakes refurbished, probably needs new exhaust since one tail pipe rusted off. Car will need some body work at front and rear lower fender panels which I tried to repair in early 70s. I repaired driver side floor board in early 70s. Car was originally purchased in Pittsburgh and was in PA until 1976 then driven to its current location in VA. Do not know condition of jack points or under carriage. Changed oil after car failed to start and have regularly turned engine over to circulate oil. Starter motor works, headlights work, interior lights work, 3 out of 4 power windows work, Do not know condition of transmission or radiator. Back seat and front passenger seat are intact without any seam separation. Driver seat has seam separation and tear related to age of leather. Tires date to the 70s. Battery, tires, and all door gaskets need to be replaced. Don't believe original Blauplunkt radio works. I believe that once engine is restarted that a tappet hold down device will need to be installed.
