Ebay item 6/26/22
www.ebay.com/itm/394133446061
Opening bid $1,000 reserve not met 0 bids buy it now price: $10,000 9 days left in auction seller chris1048, 165k miles.

Seller's description:
Very desirable 1965 Jaguar Mark X 4.2 liter saloon sedan originally bought overseas and driven by US Army Officer while on duty in Europe. Was then shipped to USA where he lived outside Fort Hood in Killeen, Texas and was driven till the engine blew a head gasket. It was then parked and not used again. Somewhere in this timeframe the the engine was partially dismantled, the oil pan removed and at least one piston and rod assembly that I know of removed but repair work never completed. Car sat outside for at least 10 years before being stored in garage for 8 years. Owner never made repairs in all this time. Original owner passed away in April of this year and was passed on nu to me at that point. I am not in the position to restore this absolutely majestic Marque and reluctantly need to pass it on to someone who can. Engine will need complete rebuild, cylinder head is off and other accessories unfastened. Interior is complete although some of the leather is dry and needs attention. The wood is good but needs re-varnishing. The body has minor rust on lower panels but not severe. The chrome front bumper is pitted under the headlights and needs attention. There are 2 tiny dents near the rear quarter panels but very minor. The tire appear excellent but have been sitting 10 years. There are some unknown stains on trunk paint but should come out with compounding. Rear glass is missing right hand chrome trim and steel wheels need refurbishing but just rusty. Spare tire rim is excellent and 2 out of 4 trim rings are still acceptable. The carpets need replacing but have entire set for patterns. This is everything I know up to this point about this car in all honesty.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
