This 1966 Jaguar 'S' type saloon is the rare and extremely desriable manual version with overdrive and it is one of the last cars as it has the synchromesh gearbox and the heated rear screen. It is fitted with the twin stainless steel exhaust system and the original Radiomobile radio has had only four previosu owners to the present owner and vendor and the mileage of 96000 miles is believed to be genuine.
Finished in Powder Blue with the navy Blue interior it was restored some eight or nine years ago by the present owner and specialists and there is a list of all the work carried out, which was very extensive, in the history file in the documentation office detailing the work carried out. The car has been finished to an exacting standard and it is superb both inside and out with new woodwork, headlining, carpets. All the chromework has been professionally done and the brake and clutch fluids are silicone based, the brake and fuel pipes are of copper, both fuel pumps have transistor non sticking contacts and it has three pots brakes from the better 420.
This is a superb car that is arguable the best driving car of all the Mark 2 shaped saloons. An under-rated car that can only appreciate in value in years to come."

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
