Car to be at auction 8/21
angliacarauctions.co.uk/classic/sat-28th-29th-august/1966-jaguar-s-type-38-mod/

Auction description:
1966 Jaguar S-Type 3.8 M/OD
Estimate: £3,000 - 5,000
V5 Present
MoT Exempt
Chassis number: 1B57810DN

Purchased by the vendor's father in 1980, this Jaguar S‑type 3.8 was used by him until 1988, after which it was garaged until the early 1990s. Some bodywork was then done on the sills, jacking points, chassis and paint, after which the Jaguar returned to the road. It continued to be used until 2003, when it was garaged again and SORNed. The vendor tells us that the engine and transmission are original, as are most of the fittings.

Included in the history folder are the V5, and a selection of MoTs from dating back to 1983. The mileage is recorded as 35,129, but at some point, the speedometer was changed, according to the vendor. The 1983 MoT certificate states the mileage as 90,372, while in 1995 it was 34,063, presumably after the gauge had been swapped. Aside from a couple of bills from 2007, most of the invoices are from 2021 for miscellaneous small parts, as well as a radiator cowl and screenwash bottle.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
