Coming from a single ownership of 32 years, this lovely V8 250 automatic is an older Vicarage restoration that has stood the test of time very well. Purchased by the vendor as a quality used car in 1980, the Daimler was finished in Warwick Grey with red leather trim. In 1985 the decision was made to make an 'ok' car very nice and a comprehensive restoration was carried out by Vicarage.
The car was stripped to its bare shell and all parts restored including the engine, the running gear and the full interior. Vicarage advised that Warwick Grey was a little unfashionable at the time and suggested a colour change to British Racing Green and chrome wire wheels were fitted. Some 26 years later this extensive restoration has stood the test of time very well. The paint is bright, the interior generally very good, the engine runs very well and the doors still shut perfectly. All the wood cappings and chrome plating are also in fine condition. A quarter of a century later, there are two or three small areas to the body that will need cosmetic attention and two tears in the driver's seat leather, but essentially this is still a great car.
The mileage of 69,204 is believed by the owner to be genuine and the car comes with an exceptional history file. This includes the original Bill of Sale, the original maintenance schedule, original warranty, 24 old MOTs and a huge quantity of bills and photographs from the earlier Vicarage restoration.
Benefiting from a stainless steel exhaust, more recent work also includes a new set of wire wheels and new tyres and the car will be offered for sale with nearly 12 months MOT.
Guide Price: £3500 to £5500
