This interesting MK II fitted with an overdrive was sold new on August 19, 1966 by the Parisian Jaguar dealer Royal Elysées and was registered on October 13, 1966. Its original service logbook bears witness to regular services in the 16th arrondissement of Paris until 1971, when the odometer totaled 56,231 km. The father of its current owner, a doctor who was a great Jaguar enthusiast, acquired the car in the North of France in December 1992, attracted by its elegant color combination: opalescent silver grey for the bodywork and midnight blue for the interior. A notebook, accompanied by the corresponding invoices, retraces all the restoration and maintenance operations since 1989, specifically a repair of the front axle in 1993, of the bodywork with quality paint job and replacement of the seals in 1994. Although we have not found an invoice apart from the x-ray of the crankshaft, the engine, which is the original one, has probably also been redone. More recently, in 2020, the car was entrusted to the excellent Sampaio Automobiles workshop for a complete overhaul of the braking circuit, a complete mechanical overhaul and change of the four tires, the total work exceeding €13,500. This elegant saloon now has a patina typical of cars carefully restored some thirty years ago, the bodywork is perfectly sound, the upholstery is simply superb, and the mechanicals work satisfactorily. A fine example to drive around with class.
