    Sellers description:
1965 Jaguar Mk II sedan overview: British Racing Green exterior with light tan interior. The car is very British with the wing mounted rear view mirrors, the bumper mounted badge bar sporting four classic club badges and the Lucas Fog Ranger lamps. This Jaguar was restored several years ago and has seen limited crusing since. Located in Bartlesville, Oklahoma.

The History: The Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate verifies the first owner of this car was a U.S. Serviceman, Sgt. D.C. Warren who purchased the car through a dealer in Madrid, Spain. According to factory records, the car was hand delivered to the new owner at the factory on December 31st, 1964! Imagine the New Year's Eve party mood this man was in to pick up such a machine, at the factory, on New Year's Eve! This explains the used of the "amber" turn lenses used on of the car - U.S. cars had white turn light lenses while European delivered cars used amber lenses. At some point, the car was purchased by a new owner outside Tulsa, in Owasso, Oklahoma. He owned the car for years and then it was parked. When we purchased the car, the leather, rubber, and plastics where destroyed by the sun and of course, were replaced during the restoration.

The engine: The car has the original 3.4 litre, dual overhead cam engine with two SU carbs. Many Jaguar purist prefer the sweet running of the square designed 3.4 litre engine. This original engine block has never been out of the car and fires up immediately with the famous Jaguar growl coming from the "performance" level stainless steel exhaust system. During restoration, the head was removed for valve inspection. A minor valve job was executed to clean up the back side of the valves and to install the later valve guide seals to reduce oil consumption. The oil pressure is excellent and the engine runs as cools as a Mk II ever has.

Engine Compartment: The radiator was replaced with a more modern core containing more cooling tubes and fins. The original generator has been replaced with an alternator to provide ample power for the air conditioner. The a/c compressor and alternator are mounted on a custom manufactured bracket providing a very original design appearance. The carburetors have been rebuilt and function as new. There are two K&N pancake airfilters mounted as well. The overall appearance of the engine compartment is considered very tidy and organized and includes a bonnet/firewall dress-up insulation kit from XK's Unlimited of California.

Air Conditioner: The Jaguar has been retrofitted with a trunk mounted air conditioning unit which is designed to move 400 cfm. The unit functions beautifully and will keep the cabin very comfortable on the summer drives. The evaporator is mounted in the foward area of the trunk as you can see in the photographs. The condensor in mounted in the driver side wheel well in front of the tire. The unit is a double-stacked condensor unit with a puller fan mounted on the rearward side. It is specifically designed for use in a tight area such as a wheel well. A small scoop under the front bumper catches and redirects the air perfectly to the front edge of the condensor.

The Exterior: This Mk II was repainted in 2001 utilizing PPG base/clear system matching the correct British Racing Green originally painted at the factory. The gloss is excellent and shows very well. There is a minor scratch on the driver's front fender about 2 inches long. The original chrome bumpers shine wonderfully with the dark green background. The hupcaps are new as well as all light lenses. Like most Mk IIs, there was small areas of rust behind each rear tire and some minor areas in the sills. Following proper body restoration techniques, these areas were cut out and replaced with steel which was welded in, reworked, and smoothed out ready for paint. There are no areas of "bubbling rust." The doors are excellent as well as the bonnet and boot lids.

The Interior: The interior has been reworked in a very sharp and sporty light tan with british racing green piping. The front seats were replaced with later Jaguar XJ six-way power adjustable seats which are tremendously more comfortable than the original which only moved foward and back. Notice the very clever installation of the control buttons for the seats on the lower facia of the center console, above the radio. The interior kit is from BAS Ltd which is known for their superior and championship interiors. All controls and switches function as designed.

If you've never driven a 3.4 litre XK Jaguar, you're in for a real treat. The manual gearbox of this Mk II shifts excellent but the real fun is to find a highway with some curves and hills. What a wonderful sound the engine makes as it pulls you up a long steep grade. And as you near the top of the hill you feel the endless pull of the long stroke six cylinder and then reaching the top you move the lever on the steering column to take the gearbox into overdrive! Wow! What a great experience as the car just finds another wind! Ease into a corner and push the overdrive lever back up and the car gently bumps back into 4th gear to give you the grunt you want to go around the corner. As you reach the apex you give it more throttle, run up the rpms a little and then re-engage the overdrive to continue your accelerating pace! Wow, what a ride!

The bare metal respray was executed to a high level and also included a thorough mechanical overhaul. The interior has also been enhanced with the seats from a XJ40, complete with picnic tables and electrical operation for the front pair.

The result is a very stylish Mk2 in great condition and perfect for shows or long-distance touring. Recent investment includes nearly £2,500 of general repairs, servicing and brake overhaul. There is also a new starter motor.
