Saturday 3rd July 2004
Lot 1141
1964 Jaguar Mk II 3.4 Litre
Registration no: German Registered
Chassis no: 179868DN
Estimate: £13,000-16,000
This very well restored Jaguar MK II, was delivered through german Jaguar dealer and race driver Peter Lindner on 28.july 1964 to the argentinian Ambassador in Germany, Tomas Alva Negri. As the original german log book is available and comes with the car, one can see that the vehicle stayed all its life in the Frankfurt area to date. The car has been restored in 1999 in Germany by a well known Jaguar specialist at a cost of DM 50.000, for which bills are available. In 2001 the car was then stripped and repainted in dark british racing green at a cost of DM 22.450. Also power assisted steering has now been fitted, as well as 4 new tyres, three phase dynamo, electronic ignition, radio with CD, new interior in black leather, new battery etc. Recently a full service has been carried out on the vehicle, also this superb car has had a 4 speed Moss gearbox with a working overdrive fiited and sits on chrome wire wheels.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
