This 1962 Jaguar Mk II is said to have been refurbished under previous ownership and is finished in green over beige leather upholstery. Power is provided by a 3.4-liter inline-six paired with a replacement Borg-Warner T-5 five-speed manual transmission. The car features air conditioning, a Bluetooth-capable Alpine stereo, and power door locks as well as dual SU carburetors, four-wheel disc brakes, and 15″ wire wheels. Work following the seller’s June 2019 acquisition has involved replacing the starting carburetor, front engine seal, engine mounts, ball joints, front brake lines, and carpets in addition to the air conditioning compressor and condenser. This Mk II is now offered at no reserve with a spare parts catalog, service manuals, tools, car covers, and a clean California title in the seller’s name listing the car as a 1963 model.
The seller notes that the car was refinished in its current shade of green under previous ownership. Details include a Leaper hood ornament, vent windows, and chrome bumpers with overriders. There is bubbled paint around the right-rear wheel, and the seller notes that there are dings on the left doors.
Chrome 15″ wire wheels are secured with two-eared knockoffs and are wrapped in 185-series Vredestein Sprint Classic tires. Braking is handled by four-wheel discs. The seller notes that work under current ownership involved replacing the front brake hoses, ball joints, and various front suspension components. Rust is noted on the steering linkage.
The cabin features front bucket seats and a rear bench upholstered in beige leather, along with wood trim on the dashboard, doors, window surrounds, and rear tray tables. Amenities include air conditioning, a Bluetooth-capable Alpine stereo, power door locks, front three-point seat belts, and rear lap belts. Work under current ownership reportedly involved replacing the carpets as well as the air conditioning compressor and condenser. The dashboard trim is cracked.
The wood-rimmed steering wheel fronts Smiths and Lucas instrumentation consisting of a tachometer with an inset analog clock accompanied by a 120-mph speedometer and centrally positioned gauges displaying water temperature, oil pressure, fuel level, and amperage. The speedometer, tachometer, and clock were rebuilt under current ownership, and the seller notes that the speedometer needle bounces. The five-digit odometer shows 8k miles, approximately 1k of which were added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.
The 3.4-liter inline-six is equipped with a replacement cylinder head as well as electronic ignition, twin SU carburetors, and an aluminum radiator with an auxiliary fan. Work under current ownership is said to have involved replacing the starting carburetor, front engine seal, and engine mounts. The seller notes that the engine occasionally hesitates at startup.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a replacement Borg-Warner T-5 five-speed manual transmission. The seller notes noise from the throwout bearing as well as underbody corrosion.
A framed Jaguar Mk II maintenance chart is included in the sale along with a spare parts catalog, service manuals, and a collection of tools.
