Dr. Greg Beacham turned his hobby of restoring Jaguar Mk.IIs into a business with a global reputation. He soon appreciated that with the iconic looks of the Mk.II a market existed for a totally revised engineering package to compliment the original shape. Using the original identification of early cars the bodyshell was completely restored becoming indistinguishable from new. The suspension was then used from later model Jaguar saloons, namely the XJ40 which allowed the fitting of independent rear suspension. This gave the Mk.II an excellent ride quality and handling to match. It also provided the Beacham Jaguars with a stance evident of special development. The interiors were again treated to special upgrades including air-conditioning and electric seats. The standard of wood varnishing was also taken to an extraordinary level.

This Beacham Jaguar was produced in 2008 from a 1961 Mk.II. It was ordered new by its only owner, a Geneva resident and finished in Gunmetal with blue leather interior. With a mileage of only 12,000 kilometers it is hardly run-in. Beacham Jaguars are finished to a very high standard and when new were in excess of £150,000. These Mk.IIs have a special presence and combine a rewarding modern driving experience with the enduring looks of Jaguars finest designs.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
