    Auction description:
    1966 Jaguar Mk2 3.4-Litre Saloon
Collectors' Motor Cars & Automobilia, Bonhams (28th February 2005)
    Overview
This 3.4-litre Mk2 was sympathetically restored in 1981 by Peter Thurston (Rapide Motors Ltd) of Herne Bay, Kent and comes with relevant invoice for £5,979. Work carried out included extensive bodywork renovation and a bare-metal re-spray. Since completion the vehicle has seen only gentle use in the hands of its loving long-term owner, covering 750-or-so miles in the past 15 years. ‘NWT 69D’ has been kept in storage in recent times and was re-commissioned for road use in November 2004 by Britannia Motor Engineering of Waltham Cross, Herts, a process that included overhauling the distributor, carburettors and rear brakes at a cost of more than £1,500 (invoice available). The vendor reports that the car, “still looks great, it really is a pleasure to use.” Finished in one of the most attractive colour combinations of gunmetal grey with red leather interior, and equipped with the desirable all-synchromesh manual/overdrive gearbox, the car is supplied with its original full tool kit, owner’s manual, sundry invoices, MoT to October 2005 and Swansea V5 registration document.
