Auction description:
Lot 409. 1964 Jaguar Mk11 3.4 Manual with overdrive
Estimate: £7,500-8,500
Colour: Metallic Opalescent Dark Green
Interior: Beige Leather
Registration No: BSM 510C
Chassis No: 168320DN
Engine No: KJ6423-8

M.O.T.: June 2009

Today the Mark II is regarded as one of the great British classic cars and we are pleased to be able to offer this 1965 3.4 Litre model. Fitted with the desirable overdrive manual gearbox we are told by the vendor that this car has been recently resprayed in the original metallic opalescent dark green although this is ‘somewhat patchy in places’ but ‘the bodywork seems very good with just some slight rust starting on the rear spats.’ The wire wheels are said to need ‘some attention.’ Coopercraft front brakes have been fitted and we are told that the engine and gearbox ‘work very well with no faults.’ Inside is a new roof lining and new carpets with good woodwork on the door cappings and dashboard. The beige leather seats have been recoloured. On view in the documents office will be a history file containing MOTs back to 1986, heritage certificate, letters from previous owners, a large number of bills and original green logbook. With an MOT and tax until June next year this Mark II will be ready to drive away from the sale could be a very stylish and individual everyday driver.

Car now offered at;

Auction description:

The Christmas Classic Car Sale 2022

Lot Number 141

Did not sell

1965 Jaguar Mk2 3.4 Saloon Manual Overdrive

Registration Number BSM 510C

Chassis Number 168320DN

Transmission Manual

A very good-looking, manual gearbox, 3.4, classically finished in Opalescent BRG with chrome wires.

Finished in Opalescent British Racing Green with Magnolia Hide and Cinnamon carpets

Originally supplied through Scottish Motor Traction, Carlisle to Mr TC Hamilton in Dumfries

Restored some years ago to a very high standard and still superb to this day

Upgrades include Coopercraft 4-pot calipers and chrome wire wheels

Comprehensive history file complete with older V5s, MOT Certificates, numerous invoices and its Heritage Certificate

Pleasingly, the original tool kit remains in place along with the jack and Thor hide hammer

A very well presented Mk2 that is available only due to lack of space and the arrival of an E-Type, ‘one man’s loss is another man’s gain’

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
