Seller's description:
Classic Open , Sales & Service, Ede, Netherlands

Jaguar Mk II 3.8 Litre, year 1962.

Colour dark blue combined with a red leather interior and red carpet.

This beautiful Jaguar Mk II was extensively restored in the past, the car is in a very good condition and the car drives excellently.

The Jaguar Mk II was a great success and one of the most desirable British saloons of the early 1960s. This top-of-the-line model is fitted with Jaguar’s biggest engine of that time; the 3.8-litre XK six, and the manually operated 4-speed gearbox with overdrive!

The 3781cc straight-six produced 220 bhp and a 3.8 with the manual gearbox was a true 125mph machine, putting most sports cars to shame as the 1960s dawned.

Because of its potential the car was very popular with the policeā€¦ and the criminal guild as well.

This beautiful Jaguar Mk II shows all the original details including the steel disc wheels with chrome hubcaps and the ‘spats’ over the rear wheels.

The luxurious interior breathes the atmosphere of a high-end British gentlemen's club, with wool carpet, expensive leather upholstery and walnut wood all around. The sporty character of the Mk II is revealed by the powerful growl of the 'twin-cam' six-cylinder engine and the beautiful dashboard full of meters and switches.

This Jaguar is equipped with a stainless-steel exhaust and the car comes complete with the original tool set which is stored in the spare wheel.

This Jaguar is ready to show its full potential to a proud new owner.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
