Auction description:
1967 Jaguar MK II 2.4 manual overdrive
Lot Number: 246
Result inc Premium: £18,550

V5 Present
MoT May 2019
Chassis number: 120808DN

Purchased by the vendor's late father in 1979 when the polythene covers remained on the seats. It still retains the rear screen 'running‑in' sticker. Correspondence from the DVLA confirm that the car records two owners prior but they were first the company and then transferred to an individual of the same name. During the family's ownership, the car has been carefully maintained by David Wall in Wroxham and dry stored. The history file contains the 1979 bill of sale, MoTs from 1991 to present, invoices dating from the early 1990's to 2013 including details of all the work that has been carried out and original handbook. Four owners registered. The mileage is recorded at 51,500.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
