Auction description:
1965 Jaguar Mk 2 3.4
Registration Number: DHY743C Chassis Number: 149947DN

This particular example was manufactured in 1965 and was originally purchased by an engineer, which goes some way to explaining how it has remained in such good condition over the years. The engine was rebuilt in 2006, the work including a conversion allowing it to run on unleaded petrol, by Jaguar specialist Ken Bell, and the car has also been fitted with a new clutch assembly, brakes, petrol pump, rear shock absorbers and exhaust system.

Finished in Golden Sand with a tan leather interior, it is offered in good condition throughout and comes complete with a V5 registration document, as well as a collection of old MoT test certificates and receipts from the two previous owners. Ready to be thoroughly enjoyed by a new owner, this is an opportunity not to be missed by anyone looking to acquire one of these much loved classic Jaguars.

Estimate
£14,000-£18,000

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
