This MK II is well known among connoisseurs and enthusiasts of this model. The engine was completely rebuilt in 2017 as a project by a well-known automotive supplier and the whole thing was filmed and accompanied in detail. You can find it on YouTube under the terms “MAHLE” and “JAGUAR” and watch the complete engine overhaul in 5 episodes. The work was carried out in Rödermark by Jaguar specialist Markus Kümpel, who is well known in the scene.

At the same time, the gearbox was sealed and Ignition 123 was installed; the carburetor and tank had also been overhauled a few years earlier.

It was first delivered in England in 1960 and only came to us in Germany many years later.

This MK II has a “JAGUAR HERITAGE” certificate, which only a few vehicles can claim.

A comprehensive DEKRA appraisal from 2016 with a replacement value of €29,000 is also available, it was a test vehicle in the October 2016 issue of Motorklassik and a prize-winner at the “Retroclassic meets Baroque”.

It runs cleanly, always starts and can definitely be described as a reliable classic car. Next spring is sure to come and you have the opportunity to start the season with this beautiful and technically perfect Jaguar.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
