This Jaguar MKII 3.8 is a charismatic and desirable classic British sports saloon, offered from long-term ownership and rebuilt by renowned Jaguar specialist Vicarage to combine timeless design with modern performance and comfort.
Under the bonnet sits a naturally aspirated 3.8-litre inline-six, which sends its power to the rear wheels via a four-speed automatic transmission.
First registered in December 1963, this example has been with its current and fourth registered keeper since August 2002.
Commissioned in the early 2000s, the Vicarage rebuild is noted to have been comprehensive, with mechanical, electrical, and interior upgrades tailored to the owner’s exacting brief.
The odometer indicates 4,939 miles, which is the mileage covered since the car’s rebuild by Vicarage. The vehicle’s true, total mileage is not known.
EQUIPMENT AND FEATURES
This MKII 3.8 is finished in a rich shade of Burgundy, over a cream leather-trimmed interior, featuring burgundy carpets and polished wood veneer trim.
It rides on a set of 15-inch cross-spoke wire wheels with knock-off hubs, shod in Michelin XWX tyres.
As part of its detailed rebuild by Vicarage, the car was enhanced with a four-speed automatic gearbox, an upgraded aluminium radiator, four-wheel disc brakes, a modern air conditioning system, electric windows, a full interior retrim with a lambswool headlining, a JVC stereo with Bluetooth connectivity and a CD multichanger in the boot, and VDO dashboard gauges, with a Vicarage-branded rev-counter and speedometer.
The car comes with a full-sized spare wheel and one ignition key.
CONDITION
Specific notes from the seller include: the vehicle presented in excellent condition throughout, and the interior remains luxurious and well-preserved, having been retrimmed by Vicarage.
The car’s last MOT test was conducted on 20 October at an indicated 4.733 miles, resulting in a clean, second-time pass.
This vehicle is now believed to be exempt from mandatory MOT testing due to its age.
SERVICE HISTORY
This MkII’s most recent routine maintenance was conducted in May 2025 at an indicated 4,939 miles by Kensington Autocare, which consisted of a complete brake replacement and new rear drive shafts being installed.
