Cheaper to insure, the '2.4' is also capable of delivering superior fuel consumption - an important consideration these days, even for classic cars - particularly when equipped with overdrive transmission, as is the case with this example.
While this 2.4-litre Mk2 was in the private ownership of a lady from Somerset, the Haynes Motor Museum carried out extensive refurbishment work between May 2007 and May 2009 at a cost in excess of £3,000. Bills for the latter are on file together with other more recent ones from M&C Wilkinson totalling in excess of £2,000 for spares and accessories supplied to the vendor, during whose ownership the vehicle has received a high quality re-spray. All chromework is reported as excellent and the interior trim is said to be in very good condition, as is the wood veneer. The under-bonnet area approaches show standard and the vehicle as a whole is very well presented, driving very well. Finished in blue with grey leather interior, 'ACK 611A' comes with a complete genuine tool kit and is offered with the aforementioned invoices, MoT/tax to September 2011 and Swansea V5 registration document.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
