JAGUAR MK2 1968 2.4 AUTOMATIC FOR RESTORATION . THIS CAR HAS BEEN OWNED BY A FATHER AND SON FROM NEW AND IS COMPLETELY ORIGINAL AND NEVER BEEN TOUCHED . IT WAS PUT INTO STORAGE IN 1981 AND HAS JUST COME OUT , THIS IS THE ORIGINAL BARN FIND ! THE ENGINE TURNS OVER FREELY AND I THINK WOULD RUN WITH A LITTLE WORK , IT'S A LOCAL CAR TO ME AND I REMEMBER THE CAR AS A CHILD PARKED ROUND THE CORNER FROM OUR FAMILY HOME . VIEWING IS RECOMMENDED AS ITS A PROJECT AND DONT WANT ANY CONFUSION AFTER THE AUCTION.

Car returned to auction 3/23
www.easyliveauction.com/catalogue/lot/d78d6edfe8d2fd2828e7afbf22863a0e/0af8d2454 ...
Auction description:
Charterhouse Auctioneers
Estimate £5,000 - £6,000
Circa 1968 Jaguar 240 automatic
Registration number XLU 409G
Brooklands green with a moss green interior
The owner started the restoration some time ago
He has replaced the front and rear callipers
The fuel tank has been re-lined and is ready to re-fit
It was last run 3-4 years ago
No documents
Ideal as a project car
No V5C
DVLA does not recognise the registration number
no exhaust system
From the owner: The main radiator was cleaned and flow tested by Arrow radiators, also the fuel tank was cleaned and coated inside and out. The front callipers were uprated with new callipers and pads from Zeus engineering in Devon, also the rear callipers pots replaced , it also has an uprated brake servo from S@G Barrett.
There is a brand new water pump and coolant hose kit. So basically it is a started project which requires some time to finish and re commission. The engine does run
and turns over freely and the auto box drives strong.
The exhaust needs replacing and some of the offside front crows foot on the chassis requires weldin, however the main floor and chassis is strong.
Sent info to Dvla but they returned saying they no longer held records of the car on the database and required chassis number etc to re establish its registration on the database. I never proceeded with this as the car was under restoration
