This 1962 Jaguar MkII 2.4 with manual overdrive gearbox was acquired by the vendor in early 2014 to use partly for pleasure and partly for his business, showing tourists around nearby Oxford.
Clearly its original green livery didn't quite cut the mustard for the serious Morse devotees in the back, so the Jaguar was treated to a full glass-out respray in 'Morse red' and a new black vinyl roof was fitted, also a-la-Morse. The interior was also smartened up with a new headlining and a thorough refurbishment of the red leather seats.
During his ownership the vendor has also rebuilt the front suspension, fitted new brake hoses and overhauled the brake calipers. Most recently, the twin carburettors have been rebuilt, the vendor confirming that it has never let him, or his customers down and that it will be driven to the sale.
MOTd until June this year, this well-prepared Jaguar MkII offers Grace, Space and sufficient Pace for those who aren't planning any bank jobs and don't need the expensive extra grunt of a 3.8 model.
AMENDMENT; Bidders are advised that the vendor did not rebuild the front suspension during his ownership as catalogued.
