Auction description:
1961 Jaguar MK2 3.8 Manual Overdrive
First Registered: 1961
Registration No: 159 UYY
Mileometer: 1,801
Chassis No: 109490DN
MOT: August 2018
Colour: White

This 1961 Jaguar MK 2 3.8 Manual is presented in Old English White with Red Leather interior. The vendor states that this car was recently imported from South Africa, when it was recommissioned. It starts on the button and drives very well. The car benefits from refurbished wood dashboard and trims, and it has also had a recent full service, brake overhaul, and resetting of the carburettors. It is said to be in lovely condition with a very sound chassis and floor. The interior is in very good condition with very good leather and wood.

The Jaguar heritage certificate shows that this car was originally UK built and dispatched to Malawi on 25th August 1961. It also shows the car to have started life as a 2.4 manual. Whilst in South Africa it was up-rated to a 3.8 and fitted with an all-syncro gearbox with overdrive. The spare is a new painted wire wheel with the label still on the tyre, while the car is fitted with chrome wire wheels and good tyres all round. It is also fitted with a stainless steel exhaust, and is a very useable classic.

Guide Price: £13,000 to £18,000

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
