The car was last on the road in 2013 and is currently (July 2020) having a thorough service and check over before being enjoyed. Was retro fitted with a 5 speed gearbox and power steering making it extremely useable. Although it has only covered 86,000 miles in 58 years.

A true icon of British culture. With a 5-speed box and stainless steel exhaust system, this example of the Mk2 is the perfect useable classic.
The example on offer here is breathed on B-road muncher. Rolling off the production line in 1962, this particular Mk2 was fitted with the iconic 3.8 (commonly found in the new E-type) and finished in dark blue over grey leather interior. Seeing good use throughout its life, it is now offered as an excellent option for a usable classic.
This particular car has received a couple of choice modifications. The engine has been fettled, being tuned not necessarily for power but to be tractable on smooth. While to add to the driving experience, a full stainless steel exhaust has been fitted, allowing the car to really sing. The big modification is the fitting of a 5-speed manual gearbox, allowing for more gear changes while allowing modern day driving far easier.
Cosmetically the car retains its patina from throughout its life, all the while remaining in a very presentable condition. There are a few spots that will need addressing to bring the car up to perfect condition, with small rust spots and a rear bumper knock which can all be seen in the gallery.
The real joy of this example is the driving experience. In combination with the choice modifications, the ride and handling characteristics of the Mk2 remain, with the suspension in good condition with no knocks or rattles.
This particular Mk2 would make an excellent choice for classic road trips, rallies and attending any classic car event.
